Functional Medicine anyone?
Just curious if anyone has tried functional/ integrative medicine? Was it worth the money? Are you any better?
So far, I’ve seen (and continue to see) my pcp, a dermatologist, rheumatologist, pulmonologist, gastroenterologist, and an allergist/ immunologist. I’ve seen ENT and every ER doctor in a 30 mile radius. Still don’t have a diagnosis or even a good guess at what’s going on. You can see in my other posts, I’ve been dealing with awful flushing/ rash (does not itch) throat tightness, brain fog, fatigue, facial acne type breakouts, trouble eating & digestion, etc. since I had a C-section in January of this year. None of my doctors seem to be anywhere close to a diagnosis. My allergist suspected MCAS early on but because of normal test results, has thrown that idea out the window. All of my test keep coming back normal. All of them. From every doctor. I had a positive ANA but rheumatology said a lot of people have that and that my symptoms aren’t autoimmune. So I’m kinda out of options I feel like. An ER doctor recently suggested functional medicine to me because he had a friend who had good success with one (different symptoms). But the one I contacted costs $480/hr and just wanted to hear some other opinions before I go broke 🥲
Currently taking Zyrtec 2x a day, 40mg faamotidine a day, Benadryl as needed, and Xanax. (The symptoms have not improved since starting these)
They have tested for carcinoid and ruled that out with blood tests and an endoscopy/ colonoscopy.
