What is the first Oscars that you remember watching?

For me, while I probably saw a few before, the year that I distinctly remember watching was the 1998 ceremony when Titanic won. I've watched them every year since but until probably 2006 when I got to high school, I sawmaybe 2 of the movies per year at most.
