Colon resection

34F. First, I want to say I know this isnt colon cancer, but a preventative measure in hopes to avoid it. Also, Im very sorry for each and every one of you dealing with cancer. History of large 2cm pedunculated polyp removed and came back as high grade dysplasia abt 1 and a half years ago. I've had several follow up colonoscopies and just recently had one with my first biopsy at the tattoo site of the last polyp. That came back as a completely different polyp now. Sessile serrated adenoma. Which he did not even see it so he was surprised. Dr now suggested another colonoscopy in April to do a bunch of biopsies in that area and possibly a resection depending if it comes back anything other than normal. I'm just confused I guess bc its not going to just go away? Right? Should I count on the resection more than likely happening? He said he's worried abt it being a problem area and possibly more happening underneath that can't be seen and this would be a preventative surgery. Anyone have any kind of similar experience?
