Anyone take the offer in DOD?

Family member in DOD considering taking the option because they have wanted to leave their job for over a year. They’re just not landing a promotion and want to focus on other projects and see this as an opportunity to exit government and transition into a more lucrative and personally fulfilling career. With the current economy, government pay is no longer sufficient, and the possibility of working on personal projects during the deferred resignation period is a key motivator.

However, their main concern is what happens if the deal falls through—whether due to agency leadership rejecting it, courts deeming it unconstitutional, or some other barrier. If that happens, they will have outed themselves as someone looking to resign, potentially making them a target for retaliation from their agency.

Is anyone else considering taking this option, especially those in DOD?
