Someone is impersonating me. What should I do now?
Good morning, people of Reddit!
When I woke up this morning, I received an SMS notifying me that there had been a request to transfer my phone number to a different account. When I logged in to the service provider's website, there was an on-going chat between "me" and the support, in which "I" asked to expedite the number transfer process. I quickly notified them, changed my password. The support also locked my account, also called me to update my email address. Those have been settled and I can log in again.
However, when I browsed the previous chat messages, the hacker did provide screenshots of a driver licence. I was surprised, and panic that the driver licence had my name, birthdate and home address correctly. The picture was some random man from a different ethnicity. I don't know what to do next.
