Movie where a Woman dumps a Man because of his "deformed" skin [probably 80s or before] [Dramatic?]

I saw this movie on TV when i was a child but i'm a 2006 so this won't help much, It seems like It was made in the 80s or before, i just remember there was a couple, a man and a woman, and the man at one part of the movie encounters an accident (i don't remember what type) and his skin gets totally damaged, and the woman doesn't want him because of his "deformed" appereance (and from what i remember the movie finishes there).

I remember that at one point of the movie they went to a Luna Park, i assume before the skin-accident.

I said that this movie was probably made during or before the 80s because i remember It having a more vintage direction and acting, i wouldn't be surprised if It was from 50s to 70s but i'm pretty sure It was in color, i'm Italian but i don't know if It will help.

This movie caught me really off guard for it's sadness, i was so young that i've probably never saw a dramatic ending like that, i was sure the woman would have accepted him and that's probably why i remember the film to this day, i know there aren't a lot of details but i was 5 or something, just tried to say what i remember and i'm sorry if it's a poor/bad description.
