Zion to Yellowstone

We are heading to salt lake city for 5 days with kids. Planning to visit Zion and other nearby park in Utah. I was thinking if its a doable drive going to Yellowstone from salt lake city. It seems like a long trip driving given that we are only there for few days. Any one tried doing both? Do you have an itinerary you could share please?
