Poltergeist’s

Im a complety noob in the stalker universe, and im having a hard time to kill those poltergeist, i swear i empty 4,5 mags with the AK you get for completing a side quest in water tower and he is still standing, anyway does he have a weakness i dunno different ammo? Granades? Is there a easier way?
